Lookout, The (2007)

Plot: An admired high school hockey player (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) with a bright future foolishly takes a drive in the night with his girl friend and two other friends with his headlights off with devastating results. The former athlete is left with a brain injury that prevents him from remembering many things for extended periods of time. To compensate, he keeps notes in a small notebook to aid him in remembering what he is to do. He also lives with a blind friend (Jeff Daniels) who aids him. Obviously, with the mental incapacitation, he is unable to have meaningful work. Thus he works as a night cleaning man in a bank. It is there he comes under the scrutiny of a gang planning to rob the bank. The leader (Matthew Goode) befriends him and gets him involved with a young woman (Isla Fisher) who further reels him in. After they get close and after reeling him in with his own failures, the bank plan unfolds. Confused but wanting to escape his current existence, he initially goes along with the scheme. After realizing he is being used, he attempts to stop the robbery, which of course immediately goes awry. Bruce McGill and Alberta Watson also co-star as the young man’s parents, who still search for the person that was there before the tragic crash.

Why did she use up the extra fuel to drive me around to lookout point?
Her car was making a loud clunking noise from the front wheels while going round a corner and she asked me to go along for a ride in the car with her so that I could hear the noise. The first corner we went around there was the noise so we went right around the block twice to confirm the noise happens during turning left and turning right.

Then she said well lets go for a run out to the lookout point (we live by the sea and our town has a small lookout area which added about an extra 7mins to the whole trip)

I have known her for the last 3 and a half years She has always been very friendly and talkative towards me most girls are not. Every time I am around her she is very happy, giggly and funny as anything

I couldn’t figure out what was making the noise in her car and the funny thing is she has never been bothered by it since.

She like me has very little money, why did she use up extra fuel driving around to the lookout point?

Who gets the blame for snitching on the bank robbers?

Plot: EPA agent Jack Taggart is Stunned to hear from his boss Phil Pratt that his best friend and fellow agent Frank Elkins has been found dead in Kentucky after Frank’s truck plunged into a river. The Kentucky State Police believes that it was an accident, but the EPA believes it was no accident. It all began with an anonymous letter from the small town of Jackson, Kentucky. Frank was sent to Jackson to investigate what the letter described as some kind of pollution that is causing fish to die and causing people to get sick enough to die. Frank sent back water and soil samples that all tested off the charts for toxic substances. After Frank discovered that the Hanner Coal Company, owned by Orin Hanner Sr., is being paid to dump toxic waste into an abandoned coal mine shaft, Frank ended up dead. Jack is assigned to go to Jackson, where his contact will be Reverend Bob Goodall, who runs a church in Jackson. After arriving in Jackson, Jack finds out that he’ll be staying in a room in the church’s basement, and as Jack’s contact, of course Bob knows that Jack will be going undercover as a carpenter. Jack begins by repairing the roof at a house where he meets Henry Carr, his wife, and his kids Edie, Alberta, Christine, and Walter. Walter is sick because of the pollution. That night, Hanner’s son Orin Hanner Jr., also known as Junior, spies on the church along with corrupt Sheriff Lloyd, who is on Hanner’s payroll. On the next day, when Jack goes into downtown Jackson, he meets Betsy Hamill and her twin sister Patsy Hamill. Jack then walks down the street and introduces himself to Cotton Harry. Then Jack takes some water samples. At church on Sunday, Bob introduces Jack to everyone, and tells everyone that Jack is a carpenter. During lunchtime at the church, Jack introduces himself to Sarah Kellogg, a local outcast who is a beekeeper. Sarah has a brother named Earl. Jack goes to Sarah’s house and offers to repair the steps on her front porch. Over time, Jack comes to believe that something is bothering Sarah, and it’s something dark. Jack wants to save her from whatever it is, while trying to bring Hanner and his crew down.

Anxiety/Depression? Need advice.?
Hey im in my mid-teens and doing 5th year (UK). For a few months I have been feeling rather down I wouldnt say depressed but definatley not normal.
I get flash feelings of anxiety about the stupidest things that would make people laugh because they are so stupid.
I also think very deeply into things constantly thinking "What if?". I also think horrible thoughts of me doing horrendous things that I know i would never really do.
I am quite head strong and there is no history of family mental health issues. I feel like I am fighting a battle in my head to keep happy and stay normal. I occasionaly feel really good and motivated and a good tingly feeling that makes me feel "fired-up". But these fade to feeling down or change to the "flash anxiety"
I would say Im about mid way through puberty if this of any importance.
Also i feel a slight ache in my head and lower neck inbetween neck and shoulders below ears.
I get these emotional flashes from the smallest smallest things I hear or read.
Sorry to go on but I think its best i gave all the info I could. So any advice guys/girls? I would really appreciate any advice, much or little.

"What ifs" are a pain, because we can’t know the future - we live in the present. Instead of feeling helpless about what might happen about things beyond your control, change the "what if" to a "what-ever" (in an American accent) - it hasn’t happened yet, it equally might not ever happen, and it’s out of your control anyway - so you can notice more of the present instead.

Father Riley, the confessor of the monastery was looking out of the narrow window, his warm, blue eyes filled with sorrow as he was listening the discussion taking place in the old and Spartan decorated room.

"It is my conclusion that sister Dolores is suffering from a very peculiar form of schizophrenia. She seems convinced that she is being visited by night by this demonic entity she calls Yasir. I would recommend getting professional help", Mr. Gonzales, the psychiatrist they had sent for concluded.

"And what exactly do you mean professional help", Mother Superior cut in.

"It’s been almost a month, now, and she is getting more and more hysterical. You should know that, as days go by, her situation is getting worse. If I had known at the right time." the psychiatrist’s eyes fixed themselves accusatory on the priest’s back.

The priest felt the gaze and with a sigh turned around, pulling off his round glasses.

"You know that I have sworn to keep the secrecy of everything I hear in the confessional.", he replied softly.

Mr. Gonzales fought the urge to jump off the chair and yell. The poor girl had had to go hysterical during the mass for him to be called, and, when Mother Superior had asked for him professional help, the sickness had already began engulfing her. Taking deep breaths to calm himself, he added in a tone laced with sarcasm:

"And you are not convinced she is having hallucinations either."

"My son, in my world, what often seems impossible is not. Blind people see, deaf hear, and dead people resurrect through the sheer will of our Lord."

"I am a good Christian, father," the psychiatrist brutally cut in," and I do not dare to question the miracles. "I am truly sorry that you feel this way" the psychiatrist rummaged through his briefcase then stood up, handling a file to the Mother superior. "These are the papers, I have all the clearances I need. As I depart I shall take her with me to Madrid. You are, of course allowed to visit her every time."

"But.."

"I am sorry, but I will save this poor girl’s mind. I assure you that once I’m done, she will be a happy young woman.", he concluded. "Now, if you’ll excuse me, I must go and see what she is doing."

As the door closed with a low hiss behind him, Mother Superior spoke in a tired voice, rubbing her forehead:

How much would it cost to turn the crank?
I’ve got a ‘95 Grand Am with a rod knocking, but still runs. Rather than replace the whole engine, I’d like to just re-machine the crank and replace the bearings because the rest is still in very good condition. What kind of cost would I be looking at? I’m doing the work, other than the machining. So any costs you give me need not include labor charges.
